Job Summary:

The product packager is responsible for packing and/or boxing product for shipment to fulfill work orders and providing the final inspection point of the order.


Essential Functions:

Ensures that all the orders are accurately boxed with correct products, packing materials, and correct label(s).

  1. Assembles or selects the appropriate box for the order.
  2. Examines and inspects material and product for defects and to ensure that packing specifications are met.
  3. Reads orders to verify compliance to special customer requirements.
  4. Prints packing slip and attaches to box with shipping envelope (or uses customer provided packing slip when applicable).
  5. Keeps packaging area clean and tidy daily.

Additional Responsibilities:

Perform additional duties as assigned by direct supervisor.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and /or ability required.

Knowledge, Skills, & Capabilities

Basic Packaging skills such as using hand tools, tape machine, and packaging materials.

  1. Knowledge of materials, production processes, quality control, and completion of training.
  2. Knowledge of basic computer skills in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Outlook and RF Scanning.
  3. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  4. Ability to work well in fast paced environment with frequently changing dynamics.
  5. Strong communication skills and desire to work with other team members.
  6. Ability to work a consistent schedule.
  7. Ability to move freight, stock, or other materials weighing up to 50 lbs. to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, by hand or using trucks, tractors, or other equipment.
  8. Ability to stand for sustained periods of time.


Physical Requirements:

  1. Standing for sustained periods of time.
  2. Making substantial movements/motions of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  3. Frequently lifting and/or moving spools weighing up to 50 lbs.
  4. Occasionally lifting and/or moving boxes weighing up to 125 lbs.


Work Environment:

  1. Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles.
  2. Noise level is usually moderate to high.
  3. This is a 2nd shift position: 3:30pm-12:00am


Education:

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Experience:

At least 1 years’ experience related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
