Certified Surgical Technologist - OB - Full-Time Nights
Location: North Central Iowa
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday-Wednesday | 7 PM - 7 AM | Holiday Rotation
Pay Range: Competitive pay, based on experience and qualifications
Are you eager to expand your skills in a supportive obstetrics department? MLR is seeking a dedicated Surgical Technologist to assist with obstetric surgeries and provide exceptional care in a dynamic hospital setting. Nestled in the heart of the Midwest, North Central Iowa offers a blend of small-town charm and big-hearted community spirit, where rolling farmland meets vibrant local culture, outdoor adventures, and a welcoming pace of life that makes it easy to feel at home.
Surgical Technologist Job Responsibilities
  • Assist in Labor & Delivery Procedures: Prepare operating rooms, ensure surgical instruments are sterile, and provide direct assistance to OB surgeons.
  • Support Multidisciplinary Teams: Collaborate with OB nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Float to Med-Surg as Needed: Provide support in the Med-Surg unit when OB patient volume is low.
  • Maintain a Safe Surgical Environment: Ensure adherence to all sterile field protocols and safety procedures.
  • Monitor & Stock Supplies: Keep surgical equipment and delivery rooms fully stocked and ready for emergency procedures.
Requirements
Licensure & Certifications:
  • BLS certification required.
Skills & Experience:
  • Prior labor and delivery or surgical scrub experience preferred, but willing to train motivated candidates.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
