Surgical Technologist

Stewart Memorial Hospital & Clinics is seeking a skilled and motivatedย Surgical Technologist to support our surgical services team. In this role, youโ€™ll play a critical part in ensuring procedures run safely and efficiently while delivering compassionate, high-quality care to patients of all ages.


Position Summary

Under the supervision of the department manager, the Surgical Technologist prepares surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment, and assists physicians during procedures. This role is essential in maintaining a sterile, organized, and patient-focused surgical environment.


Responsibilitiesย 
  • Prepare and maintain surgical instruments, supplies, and procedure trays
  • Assist physicians during surgical procedures and examinations
  • Monitor patient condition during procedures and report changes promptly
  • Clean and prepare operating/procedure rooms between cases
  • Stock and manage supplies to ensure readiness for procedures
  • Respond to trauma code calls and assist with emergency situations
  • Transport patients as needed
  • Maintain accurate patient records while ensuring HIPAA compliance
  • Support care for patients across all age groupsโ€”from neonatal to geriatric
  • Participate in on-call rotation after regular department hours

Requirementsย 
  • Graduate of a recognized Surgical Technologist Program
  • Current BLS certification
  • Strong clinical awareness and attention to detail
  • Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations
  • Commitment to patient safety, privacy, and compassionate care
