Job description

Our client seeks a IT Project Manager / IT Program Manager to oversee and execute strategic projects. Must reside in the DES MOINES METRO AREA.

The IT Project Manager / IT Program Manager position is a full-time contract opportunity, where you will earn up to $80/hour, based on your experience. Plus, additional incentives. You will work Monday – Friday daytime hours.

As a IT Project Manager / IT Program Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and executing strategic projects that drive the further development and implementation of innovative digital solutions, as well as:

  • Providing direct leadership over the Project Managers and Project Admins
  • Supporting the success of the PMO team overall
  • Defining project objectives, scope, requirements, critical path, and success criteria in alignment with key stakeholders
  • Leading and managing the end-to-end project planning and execution of a major digital initiative
  • Managing day-to day project schedule, deliverables, and resources
  • Coordinating with cross-functional teams
  • Leading and facilitating effective project and stakeholder team working sessions to identify requirements, impacts and resource requirements
  • Ensuring seamless project execution throughout its life cycle
  • Adhering to high standards of development, quality, dashboard reporting, and timely delivery
  • Upholding project budgetary guidelines and timelines with keen attention to detail and ability to adapt to changing circumstances
  • Delivering professional concise project status reporting with internal and external stakeholders
  • Developing a chance management plan across all stakeholder groups after assessing impacts and risks
  • Leading project planning and milestone delivery within the project team
  • Applying agile methodologies to optimize project management processes
  • Utilizing tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, and Confluence
  • Identifying potential risks associated with digital initiatives
  • Ensuring digital projects comply with regulator requirements, industry standards, and internal policies
  • Identifying opportunities for process automation enhancements
  • Working with IT to assess cybersecurity
  • Working closely with managers and advisors
  • Developing and managing budgets
  • Ensuring digital projects are delivered on time and within budget
  • Preform other duties as assigned

To be considered for this IT Project Manager / IT Program Manager opportunity, you must have at least five (5) years of project management experience in the wealth management industry with a focus on digital solutions. In addition, you must have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (business, finance, or related field)
  • Proficiency in project management software and digital tools
  • PMP or similar project management certification is a plus
  • Familiarity with Financial Services or Wealth Management business operations including Investment Management, Compliance, Rep Advisor Onboarding/Transitions, Operations, Licensing, Registration
  • Understanding of Registered Investment Advisory, Broker Dealer, investment products, financial planning, and wealth management strategies in a digital context is a plus
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
