We are currently looking for someone to join us full time for the role of Operations Trainee, to assist our operations manager majorly in the Vancouver, North Vancouver, Port Moody, and Coquitlam region.
The operations Trainee is responsible for supporting multiple locations in a region through a variety of roles as required. They support the Operations Team in providing leadership, direction, and guidance to ensure shop operations run efficiently and effectively. We offer a competitive salary range between $48000 - $55000 per year, along with 3 weeks of paid vacation per year.
This position requires frequent travel across several locations in the area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides the highest levels of customer service, both internally and externally, with the goal of continuously improving the customer experience;
  • Supports daily operations by providing leadership to ensure stakeholder objectives are met in a safe, effective, ethical and positive manner;
  • Supports management of shop in alignment with The Craftsman Way (TCW);
  • Provides vacation coverage as required under the direction of the regional operations manager;
  • Uses company dashboard to accurately identify and prioritize tasks;
  • Actively participates in daily production meetings;
  • Maintains professional relationships with all stakeholders;
  • Writes estimates and schedules repairs as required;
  • Uses Craftsman Management System to enter parts and sublet invoices as required;
  • Utilizes expert understanding and application of all insurance/fleet specific policies and procedures;
  • Supports daily production, work flow and quality control of the shop;
  • Walks with purpose, demonstrates care about the whole vehicle and all stakeholders;
  • Works with assigned Operations team members and Shop Manager to follow operational goals, in alignment with organizational objectives;
  • Proactively takes steps and leverages all systems and resources to reduce effort in order to increase touch time and reduce vehicle days in shop;
  • Ensures compliance with internal policies, procedures and guidelines to promote their consistent application within the Company;
  • Brings forward suggestions for training needs based on observations;
  • Brings forward suggestions to continuously improves processes;
  • Supports company standards in SPARKLE, safety and security;
  • Represents and promotes the Craftsman Collision brand in a positive manner aligned with stated values in all dealings internal and external; and
  • Other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field preferred; a combination of education and relevant experience will also be considered;
  • Working towards I-CAR Platinum certification an asset;
  • Strong verbal, written and listening skills, combined with the ability to interact and gain the support of senior leadership and other decision-makers;
  • A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills;
  • Demonstrated time management, problem solving, critical thinking and sound judgement skills;
  • Strong interpersonal skills with customer service-oriented attitude;
  • Proficient in Outlook and video conferencing platforms with the ability and willingness to learn new applications;
  • Demonstrated desire and aptitude for learning and development;
  • Interest in vehicles and the automotive industry;
  • Knowledge and proficiency in ADAS systems, vehicle calibrations, and emerging vehicle technologies an asset;
  • Must have a valid class 5 driver's license with a clean driver’s abstract over the last 3 years;
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada with no restrictions.
