Job Title :: Paralegal
Assignment location:: DMAS-HQ, 600 East Broad Street, Richmond, VA 23219
Assignment duration:: 6 months
Ideal Start Date:: Earliest available
Pay Rate:: $30.00/hr on W2 Without Benefits
Interview Mode In-person
What will be temp's work hours? Between hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm
What will be temp's lunch period? 1 hour TBD
Dress Code (Business Attire/Business Casual/Casual): Business Casual
Parking Accommodations: Parking garage access with staff responsibility for payment
Will temp be required to drive as part of their job duties: 0 Yes
Equipment to be used by the temporary staffing professional(s) : Computer/laptop

The Paralegal position contains largely the same job description and knowledge, skills, and abilities as the Eligibility Hearing Officer role we are recruiting for - however, the types of cases the Paralegal would be responsible for dealing with and adjudicating would be significantly less complex than what our current eligibility hearing officers handle.
Knowledge, skills, education, and/or experience
1. Experience independently managing a caseload to meet established time frames.
2. Considerable work-related experience applying rules to facts to reach logical, legally supportable conclusions.
3. Knowledge of administrative law and / or appeals procedures.
4. Considerable knowledge of legal research methodologies, including computerized legal research.
5. Considerable experience with technology, including MS Office.
6. Considerable experience interpreting, applying, and analyzing federal and state complex laws, regulations, policies, or case law.
7. Experience in meeting deadlines.
8. Experience with internal/external stakeholders.
9. Considerable experience in legal analysis and legal writing.
Mandatory skills/certification(s) Requirement:
• Valid Driver's License, clean driving record, and ability to drive and navigate through downtown traffic
