What is a tech leader?

Tech Leaders are experienced professionals who guide and support technical teams within organizations. They are responsible for setting technical direction, making key architectural decisions, and ensuring that projects are delivered efficiently and meet quality standards. Tech Leaders also mentor team members, facilitate communication between stakeholders, and help resolve technical challenges. Their role is a blend of hands-on technical work and leadership responsibilities, making them crucial for the success of technology-driven projects.

How does a tech leader typically balance hands-on technical work with managerial responsibilities?

As a Tech Leader, you are expected to maintain a careful balance between contributing to technical projects and overseeing the team's progress. While you may still participate in coding or architectural decisions, a significant portion of your time will be dedicated to mentoring team members, facilitating collaboration, and aligning the team's work with business objectives. Successful Tech Leaders often delegate technical tasks when appropriate to focus on strategic planning, stakeholder communication, and resolving blockers for the team. Who Weโ€™re Looking For

We are seeking an experienced, strategic, and highly collaborative IT Director to lead the strategy, performance, and security of our core business systems and technology operations. This is a unique opportunity to shape the technology roadmap for a global house of brands, build a high-performing IT organization, and partner with executive leadership to drive the business forward.

If you are passionate about enterprise systems, cyber security, and building the technology backbone that professionals across our brands rely on every day, we want to hear from you.

About the Role

The IT Director is the senior technology leader for Body Art Alliance, responsible for the strategy, performance, and security of the company's core business systems and IT operations. Reporting directly to the CFO, you'll lead a team of technology professionals and provide functional oversight of NetSuite Administration, with a resource plan that balances internal and contract support. You'll own the roadmap and vendor relationships across Office 365, NetSuite, RF Smart, Celigo, Power BI, SQL, and Snowflake, and advise on other enterprise applications like HubSpot, Klaviyo, and Shopify that support operations and commercial growth. You'll translate business priorities into technology strategy, keep systems reliable and secure across all business units, and partner with executive leadership to align technology investment with company goals.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and develop your team and provide functional oversight of NetSuite Administration โ€” setting priorities, standards, and performance goals for the team.
  • Own the strategic roadmap, licensing, and vendor relationships for Office 365, NetSuite, RF Smart, Power BI, SQL, and Snowflake.
  • Advise and support the roadmap, implementation, and maintenance of HubSpot, Klaviyo, Shopify, and Celigo to enable commercial growth.
  • Ensure NetSuite, Power BI, and Snowflake are integrated to support a reliable, single source of truth for financial and operational reporting.
  • Own the organization's cyber security strategy, monitor compliance, lead incident response, and manage relationships with security vendors.
  • Partner with the CFO and executive leadership to align technology investment with business goals, including support for new office setups, expansions, and integrations.
  • Manage and optimize managed service provider (MSP) relationships, and prioritize the cross-functional IT project backlog.
  • Build and manage the IT department's structure, staffing plan, and budget.
  • Act as the executive point of escalation between IT, business units, HR, and external vendors.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of progressive IT experience, including experience managing people and leading technical teams.
  • Experience administering or overseeing ERP systems, NetSuite strongly preferred.
  • Experience with business intelligence and data platforms such as Power BI, SQL, and Snowflake.
  • Familiarity with CRM and marketing platforms such as HubSpot and Klaviyo.
  • Demonstrated experience with cyber security practices; relevant certification (e.g., Security+, CISSP) a plus.
  • Strong project management and vendor management track record, including managing MSP relationships.
  • Ability to translate business needs into technology strategy and communicate clearly with a CFO and other executives.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be available to travel as needed to support office setups, expansions, and business unit needs.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary: $184,000 to $205,000, depending on experience, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus. Body Art Alliance offers a competitive benefits package. [Confirm benefits summary before posting.]
