Position Summary
American Institute for Economic Research educates Americans on the value of personal freedom, free enterprise, property rights, limited government, and sound money. AIER's ongoing scientific research demonstrates the importance of these principles in advancing peace, prosperity and human progress.
The IT Intern will support the Information Technology team by assisting with documentation, infrastructure tracking, software and asset management, and internal IT projects. This role provides hands-on experience in IT operations, systems management, and organizational technology practices while offering exposure to a wide range of IT functions and initiatives.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, eager to learn, and interested in developing practical experience in information technology and systems administration.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Duration: This is a 22-week internship
Documentation & Process Management
  • Document IT processes, procedures, configurations, and workflows for future reference and operational consistency.
  • Maintain accurate records of hardware, software, and network infrastructure.
  • Assist in creating and updating internal IT documentation and manuals.

Collaboration & Team Support
  • Work closely with the IT team to support ongoing technology projects and initiatives.
  • Participate in meetings, planning sessions, and project updates.
  • Provide administrative and technical support for IT operations as needed.

Research & Technology Awareness
  • Research emerging IT trends, tools, and technologies.
  • Recommend improvements or efficiencies based on industry best practices.
  • Assist in evaluating software, hardware, and IT management solutions.
