JOB SUMMARY
Students will rotate through a variety of Information Technology (I.T.) teams within NCH Healthcare System including but not limited to: Governance and Project Management, End User Device, Information Security, Service Desk, and Applications to gain knowledge and understanding of information technology's role in the healthcare industry. The structured internship is designed to expose students to the healthcare I.T. industry and the role technology plays within patient care. Students will assist with the Epic Electronic Health Record (EHR) implementation. Students will assist with Technical Dress Rehearsal (TDR), Epic Training, and At the Elbow Technology Support. All technical skills will be taught.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Other duties may be assigned.
• Participate in projects as deemed appropriate by management.
• Assist setting up workstations and rolling out new hardware or software services.
• Analyze and improve current processes, products, and systems.
• Assist users log-onto courses and manage their training requirements.
• Present findings of research and analysis.
• Perform routine audits and reports findings to management.
• Provide outstanding customer service to our customers and maintains positive relationships with other employees, contractors, and other interns.
• Desire and willingness to work in a collaborative, innovative, flexible, and team-oriented environment, while displaying a problem-solving orientation to issues daily.
• Troubleshoot identified issues, solves end user problems, enhances, and optimizes applications.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum of High school diploma/GED.
• Must be actively pursuing a college degree or recent graduate of a bachelor's degree (within 5 years of graduation) with a willingness to learn about healthcare I.T.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Ability to solve complex problems in a timely manner.
• Accurate with good attention to detail.
• Ability to work under own initiative / self-motivated.
• Dexterity to learn new systems and programs rapidly.
• Must have the ability to travel between locations.
• Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook).
