What is a tech executive?

Tech executives are high-level leaders within technology-focused organizations or departments, typically holding titles such as Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Chief Information Officer (CIO), or Vice President of Engineering. They are responsible for setting the technological vision, overseeing the development and implementation of tech strategies, and ensuring that technology initiatives align with the company’s overall business goals. Tech executives also manage teams, budgets, and partnerships, and they play a key role in driving innovation and digital transformation within their organizations.

How do tech executives typically collaborate with other departments to drive innovation within an organization?

Tech Executives frequently work cross-functionally with leaders from marketing, operations, finance, and product development to align technology initiatives with overall business goals. They often lead or participate in strategy meetings, encourage open communication among teams, and foster a culture where new ideas are welcomed and evaluated. This collaborative approach helps identify opportunities for digital transformation and ensures that technology investments support company-wide innovation. Tech Executives also mentor technical teams to bridge gaps between technical solutions and business needs.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a tech executive, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Tech Executive, you need deep expertise in technology strategy, business acumen, and leadership, often supported by an advanced degree in computer science or business. Familiarity with enterprise IT systems, cloud platforms, cybersecurity frameworks, and experience with project management tools are typically essential. Exceptional communication, visionary thinking, and the ability to inspire and manage diverse teams set top performers apart. These skills are crucial for aligning technology initiatives with business goals, driving innovation, and leading organizations through digital transformation.

Las Vegas Equipment Technology Executive (Outside Sales)

Build Your Career. Build Your Income. Make an Impact.

Earn $100,000+ in your first year.

Are you a motivated sales professional who enjoys winning new business, building lasting relationships, and helping organizations improve the way they work?

Les Olson IT is looking for an Equipment Technology Executive (ETE) to help businesses throughout Southern Nevada modernize their print and document environments. You’ll partner with business owners and executives to identify opportunities, solve operational challenges, and deliver industry-leading Sharp imaging solutions backed by the best service organization in the region.

This is more than a sales job—it’s an opportunity to build a long-term career with one of the West’s most respected technology companies.

What You’ll Do

As an Equipment Technology Executive, you’ll be responsible for growing your territory through prospecting, account development, and consultative selling.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Prospect and develop new business through networking, referrals, cold calling, and strategic outreach.
  • Build and manage a healthy pipeline of qualified opportunities.
  • Meet with business owners and executives to understand their business goals, workflows, and operational challenges.
  • Recommend office technology, document imaging, and workflow solutions that improve productivity while reducing costs.
  • Conduct product demonstrations, presentations, proposals, and contract negotiations.
  • Expand existing customer relationships through upgrades, additional locations, and technology enhancements.
  • Partner with service, operations, and technical specialists to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline activity and forecasting within CRM.
  • Consistently achieve or exceed monthly sales goals.

Who Thrives Here

They are:

  • Competitive and motivated by achieving goals.
  • Naturally curious and skilled at uncovering customer needs.
  • Relationship builders who earn trust quickly.
  • Self-starters who create opportunities instead of waiting for them.
  • Coachable professionals committed to continuous improvement.
  • Resilient and positive when facing challenges.
  • Accountable, organized, and dependable.
  • Team players who collaborate to deliver outstanding customer experiences.

If you enjoy solving business problems, building relationships, and controlling your own income through performance, you’ll thrive at Les Olson IT.

What We’re Looking For

  • 2+ years of successful B2B outside sales experience.
  • Experience selling office technology, copiers, managed print, IT services, telecom, SaaS, payroll, or other business solutions is preferred.
  • Strong prospecting and business development skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to build relationships with business owners and executive decision-makers.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

A college degree is appreciated but not required. We value proven performance, ambition, and character over credentials.

Unlimited earning potential with uncapped commissions.

Compensation includes:

  • $30,000 annual base salary
  • $550 monthly vehicle and cell phone reimbursement
  • Uncapped commission plan
  • Ongoing coaching and professional development
  • Clear career advancement opportunities
  • PTO beginning on Day One
  • Medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and additional employee benefits

Top performers consistently earn six-figure incomes.

  • Paid Time Off
  • Sick Days
  • Paid Holidays
  • Work-life Balance
  • Life Insurance
  • Local Volunteer Opportunities
