Trane Technologies has an exciting opportunity to join our organization as a Regional Account Manager within our Residential HVAC business. This role will lead territory planning and strategic account management across the South Carolina, North Carolina, and Virginia markets, with primary responsibility for two key private equity customers and their local branch locations. The Regional Account Manager will be responsible for driving share growth and profitable revenue expansion by building strong relationships across a broad range of stakeholder groups, from market area presidents and senior leadership to local general managers overseeing day-to-day branch operations. This individual will bring a growth-oriented mindset and serve as a trusted business partner, identifying opportunities to strengthen customer engagement, expand portfolio penetration, and support long-term strategic growth. The role will also collaborate closely with internal commercial teams and engage with existing reseller market partners to enhance sales effectiveness, strengthen channel relationships, and elevate overall customer experience. The successful candidate will be an effective communicator, skilled at navigating complex customer organizations, influencing decision-makers at multiple levels, and articulating the value Trane Technologies brings to the residential HVAC market.


What you will do:

  • Drive profitable growth across the South Carolina, North Carolina, and Virginia markets by developing and executing strategic account plans focused primarily on two key private equity-owned customers and their branch locations.
  • Build, strengthen, and expand relationships across a broad range of stakeholder groups, including market area presidents, regional leaders, local general managers, and branch-level decision-makers, to support share gain and long-term business growth.
  • Identify, pursue, and develop new opportunities within existing customer networks and branch footprints, while also supporting expansion through current reseller market partners across the territory.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of our Residential HVAC product offerings, programs, and value propositions, and communicate them effectively to a diverse range of customer and partner stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal sales, account leadership, channel, and operations teams to develop coordinated growth strategies, solve customer challenges, and improve overall sales effectiveness.
  • Lead account planning, business reviews, and opportunity management activities to ensure growth objectives, revenue targets, and margin expectations are achieved across the assigned territory.
  • Use CRM and reporting tools consistently to maintain visibility to account activity, pipeline health, relationship expansion, and strategic growth opportunities.
  • Negotiate strategically with a focus on profitable growth, portfolio positioning, and long-term customer value creation across assigned accounts and partners.
  • Engage regularly with reseller market partners to strengthen channel relationships, improve market coverage, and identify additional opportunities for growth within the region.
  • Represent the business at relevant industry events, customer meetings, and market-facing activities to build relationships, strengthen brand presence, and support territory growth objectives.
  • Travel regularly within the assigned region to maximize face-to-face engagement with key customer stakeholders, branch leaders, and channel partners. Up to 50%.


What you will bring:

  • Sales experience working within a complex, multi-channel go-to-market environment is required, with demonstrated success in account management, business development, and driving growth across distributed customer organizations. Experience working with private equity-owned businesses, multi-site customers, distributor/reseller networks, or branch-based operating models is a plus.
  • Proven ability to generate and qualify leads, develop customer solutions with business insights, create value and demand, close new business, and grow existing account relationships.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit and comfort with both working autonomously and collaborating cross-functionally to drive results
  • DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State Must possess a valid driver's license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations included, but not limited to: DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.
