Job Description

As the Specialist, Impact you will play a central role in the day-to-day operations of the Covista Impact function and the Covista Foundation, supporting donor management, financial operations, compliance and grantmaking. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who is passionate about social impact and thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. 

The Specialist, Impact will report to the Vice President, Impact and will be an active member of Covista’s Impact team. Positioned within the Corporate Affairs department, the Specialist partners closely with the Foundation leadership, accounting, and legal teams to ensure the Impact function and the Covista Foundation operate with excellence, compliance, and impact. 

  • Administer GiveSmart donor management system; maintain accurate and up-to-date donor files. 
  • Process all donations and distribute acknowledgement tax letters in compliance with IRS requirements. 
  • Build, track and invoice all pledge receivables; generate reports for the Board of Directors and support monthly reconciliations. 
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting functions including invoice and grant payment processing; collaborate with the accounting team on financials and cash flow management. 
  • Maintain complete audit files; support reconciliations monthly, quarterly and annually; assist with annual audit and tax filing requirements. 
  • Oversee state and federal fundraising registrations; monitor compliance requirements and deadlines 
  • Coordinate Board meeting logistics including scheduling, materials preparation and distribution; draft and maintain Board meeting minutes. 
  • Support the planning and execution of fundraising campaigns and Foundation events; coordinate employee giving and volunteer engagement initiatives tied to Foundation priorities.
  • Manage relationships with Foundation vendors and service providers; track contracts, renewals and deliverables to ensure compliance with agreements. 
  • Conduct research on potential nonprofit partners and grantees to support Foundation strategy and pipeline development.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 
  • Complies with all policies and standards. 
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent experience. 
  • Two (2) plus years in nonprofit operations, foundation administration, accounting, or a related field. 
  • Experience with donor management systems (GiveSmart or similar) and nonprofit database administration. 
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in accounting functions, reconciliations, and audit support in a nonprofit or foundation setting. 
  • Familiarity with nonprofit compliance requirements including IRS regulations, state fundraising registrations and charitable solicitation laws. 
  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong organizational and project management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact professionally with Board members, donors and external partners. 
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maintain appropriate boundaries with donors and stakeholders. 
  • Passion for social impact and mission-driven work; genuine interest in philanthropy. 
  • Track record of working effectively across teams and with senior leadership in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Flexible and action-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset; ability to adapt to evolving priorities and processes. 
  • Works well under pressure; possesses a strong work ethic, sound judgment and the ability to prioritize competing demands. 
  • Contributes to a culture of collaboration, accountability and exemplary organizational performance. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with nonprofit accounting or donor management software preferred. 
  • Experience in a matrixed or corporate foundation environment preferred. 

Additional Information

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $53,520.9 and $96,736.53. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
