We are seeking a Digital Automation Impact Team - Lead to rapidly design, develop, and deploy AI-powered business solutions that deliver measurable value across the organization. This role focuses on identifying high-impact opportunities, building proofs of concept, and delivering production-ready solutions using AI, automation, and modern software development technologies.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on builder and self-starter who combines software engineering, AI solution development, automation expertise, and business problem-solving skills. They are equally comfortable building a Power App, developing a Copilot Studio agent, creating a Power Automate workflow, or using Visual Studio Code and GitHub Copilot to develop custom applications and integrations.
Success in this role is measured by business outcomes, speed to value, process efficiency improvements, user adoption, and the ability to rapidly transform ideas into scalable AI-powered automation solutions.
Here's What You'll Do
AI Solution Development & Delivery
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy AI-powered business process automation solutions that improve operational efficiency, reduce manual effort, and accelerate business outcomes.
  • Build end-to-end solutions using technologies such as:
  • Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio
  • Visual Studio Code
  • GitHub Copilot
  • APIs and enterprise integrations
  • Develop proofs of concept (POCs), minimum viable products (MVPs), and production-ready solutions.
  • Rapidly validate ideas and scale successful solutions into production.
  • Design and develop AI agents, copilots, and conversational experiences that streamline business processes, improve decision-making, and increase operational efficiency.
  • Build reusable components, templates, accelerators, and frameworks to increase development velocity and solution scalability.

Business Process Automation & Stakeholder Partnership
  • Partner directly with business stakeholders to identify, prioritize, and deliver AI-powered automation opportunities.
  • Analyze business processes and identify opportunities to reduce manual effort, eliminate repetitive tasks, and improve efficiency.
  • Translate business challenges into practical AI and automation solutions.
  • Deliver quick wins while contributing to larger transformational initiatives.
  • Measure and communicate business outcomes including productivity gains, cycle-time reduction, error reduction, and user adoption.

Software Engineering & Enterprise Integration
  • Develop custom applications, integrations, APIs, and automation services when low-code solutions are not sufficient.
  • Integrate solutions with enterprise platforms such as ServiceNow, Jira, SAP, Workday, Microsoft 365, OneTrust, Agiloft, and other business systems.
  • Leverage GitHub Copilot and AI-assisted development tools to accelerate software delivery.
  • Follow modern software engineering practices including:
  • Source control and branching strategies
  • Code reviews
  • Automated testing
  • CI/CD
  • Secure software development practices
  • Implement security, compliance, auditability, and governance requirements within delivered solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and support production solutions.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement
  • Stay current on advancements in AI, automation, agentic AI, and software engineering best practices.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and identify practical business applications.
  • Contribute reusable patterns, standards, and lessons learned across teams.
  • Help establish best practices for AI-powered automation solution development.
  • Contribute to Moderna's AI and automation strategy through experimentation and innovation.

Here's What You'll Need (Basic Qualifications)
  • 7+ years of experience in software engineering, automation engineering, application development, or solution development.
  • Hands-on experience designing and delivering AI-powered business solutions and business process automations.
  • Hands-on experience developing solutions using Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, and/or Copilot Studio.
  • Experience developing AI agents, copilots, or conversational AI solutions using Copilot Studio or similar AI platforms.
  • Experience developing applications, integrations, or automation solutions using modern development tools such as Visual Studio Code.
  • Experience leveraging GitHub Copilot or similar AI-assisted development tools to accelerate software delivery.
  • Experience with at least one scripting or programming language such as PowerShell, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or C#.
  • Experience delivering solutions from concept through production deployment.
  • Experience integrating business solutions with enterprise platforms using APIs, web services, and connectors.
  • Experience using source control, Git-based development workflows, and modern software delivery practices.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work directly with business stakeholders.

Here's What You'll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Experience in regulated environments (e.g., pharma, healthcare, GxP, SOX).
  • Experience with GitHub Enterprise, Azure DevOps, and CI/CD pipeline implementation.
  • Microsoft Power Platform certifications (PL-400, PL-600, Copilot Studio certifications, or related certifications).

The salary range for this role is $130,800.00 - $209,400.00. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An individual's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, performance, and business or organizational needs.The successful candidate may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, other incentive compensation, or equity award, subject to company plan eligibility criteria and individual performance.
