Position: Substitute Teacher


Division: Lower, Middle and Upper School


Reports to: Principal




Purpose: The Substitute Teacher will report to the division Principal and will provide classroom coverage as assigned when the regular teachers are absent. The substitute teacher must be confident teaching a wide range of material and age groups.


Specific Skills:


  • Flexible and willing to adapt to change at short notice.
  • Ability to teach day to day assignments while following the plans of the teacher and maintaining classroom order.
  • Uses initiative to solve problems when they arise and is willing to make decisions based on the best interest of students.
  • Ability to quickly adjust to different subjects when needed.
  • Ability to communicate well with students and staff.
  • Willingness to help supervise extracurricular activities.
  • A positive attitude.
  • Wants to be part of a close community and able to contribute in positive ways to the culture of the school.
