Job Description:

The substitute teacher responds to requests for substitutes and effectively fulfills the duties of a licensed teacher on a temporary basis. ย Most shifts are for a full day.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide responsible and reliable coverage for absent staff members and teachers.
  • Respond to occasional urgent early morning (5:00 am) and late-night requests for coverage.
  • Carefully read and follow sub plans provided by teachers.
  • Have the ability to improvise sub plans if absent teacher is unable to provide plans.

Salary: $240/day for subs with an unrestricted teaching license

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with responsibilities of classroom teachers and school procedures.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Ability to be awake and alert as early as 5:00 am on all school days.
  • Passing criminal background check.
  • State of Oregon Teaching License or Restricted Substitute or Substitute Teaching License.
  • Current First Aid Card.
