We are seeking a passionate and strategic Instructional Coach & Professional Learning Lead to strengthen teaching and learning across our school community through coaching, collaboration, and professional growth.
This leader will play a critical role in supporting teachers, improving instructional systems, and ensuring all students-regardless of background-experience rigorous, culturally responsive, and student-centered learning environments.
Position Summary
The Instructional Coach & Professional Learning Lead drives equitable, high-quality instruction across the school by coaching teachers, leading professional development, and strengthening instructional systems. This role centers equity in practice-ensuring all students have access to rigorous and engaging learning experiences that prepare them for long-term success.
The coach partners with teachers to refine instructional practice, analyze student learning, and implement strategies that support diverse learners. This role also leads the design and implementation of impactful professional development aligned with the school's instructional priorities and mission.
Key Responsibilities
Instructional Coaching & Teacher Development
  • Conduct regular classroom observations and provide actionable, growth-oriented feedback
  • Partner with teachers to set and monitor instructional goals focused on student achievement and equitable outcomes
  • Model effective instructional strategies, including differentiated instruction and culturally responsive teaching practices
  • Lead coaching cycles for teachers at varying levels of experience and development
  • Support instructional planning, classroom management, and student engagement strategies
Equity-Driven Instruction
  • Support teachers in implementing culturally responsive and inclusive instructional practices
  • Ensure instruction meets the needs of diverse learners and students from historically underserved communities
  • Facilitate reflection around bias, expectations, and equitable access within classrooms and curriculum
  • Partner with school leadership to align instructional practices with the school's equity commitments and mission
Professional Development Leadership
  • Design and implement a strategic, year-long professional development plan aligned to instructional priorities
  • Facilitate engaging and relevant PD sessions grounded in adult learning best practices
  • Identify, coordinate, and collaborate with external consultants and facilitators to provide high-quality training opportunities
  • Ensure professional learning translates into classroom practice through ongoing coaching and support
  • Collect and analyze feedback and data to continuously strengthen PD offerings
Data & Instructional Improvement
  • Support teachers in analyzing student achievement data to inform instructional decisions
  • Assist teams in setting measurable, standards-aligned goals and monitoring progress
  • Collaborate with leadership to align curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices
  • Identify instructional trends and opportunities for school-wide improvement
Culture of Growth & Collaboration
  • Foster a school culture where feedback, reflection, and continuous improvement are valued
  • Facilitate professional learning communities, team meetings, and collaborative planning sessions
  • Celebrate and elevate strong instructional practices across the school
  • Serve as a thought partner to school leadership on instructional priorities and teacher development

Requirements
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Education or related field required
  • 3-5+ years of successful classroom teaching experience
  • Experience in a Title I and/or public school setting strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity and experience supporting diverse student populations
  • Proven instructional expertise and strong understanding of effective pedagogy
  • Experience coaching adults or leading professional development preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and deliver direct, actionable feedback

Salary Description
$58,000 - $65,000
