Job description

Rock Ridge Public Schools is accepting applications for two 1.0 FTE Elementary Special Education Teachers for the 2026-2027 school year.

Position:  Special Education Teacher - Elementary (2 Positions Available)
                  1.0 FTE

Location:  Special Education Setting-4 Center-Based Program

Start Date:  August 24, 2026 (or as negotiated)
Salary and Benefits:  $47,598 - $90,420 (Pay and benefits follow the Education Minnesota Rock Ridge Local #7394 Collective Bargaining Agreement - available at www.rrps.org.)  

Position Overview:
Rock Ridge Public Schools is seeking a highly qualified Special Education Teacher to serve in an Elementary Setting II/IV center-based program supporting students with significant academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs. 

Program Description:
This program provides intensive, individual instruction, behavioral supports, structured routines, and functional academic programming in collaboration with families and service providers.

Staffing Structure:
Programming aligns with Minnesota center-based service expectations. Setting III programs operate with lower student-to-staff ratios, while Setting IV programs require intensive staffing supports, often approximating a 1:3 staff-to=student ratio or greater based on student needs and IEPs.

Required Qualifications:
* Valid Minnesota Special Education teaching license
* Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
* Knowledge of IEPs, behavior strategies, and compliance requirements


Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in Setting III or IV programs
* Implement behavior supports and interventions
* Maintain structured classroom environment
* Collaborate with staff, families, and service providers
* Ensure compliance and documentation
* Perform other duties as assigned





Essential Duties:
* Support behavior systems and crisis response
* Assist with FBAs and BIPs
* Support staff and classroom management
* Collaborate with families and agencies
* Supervise students and daily operations
* Perform other duties as assigned
