Children's House Assistant Teacher


Bay Farm Montessori Academy is searching for a teaching assistant for the 2026-27 school year. If you are interested in joining a highly-trained team of teachers to promote a vibrant Montessori experience for our youngest children, please apply.


Bay Farm's teacher assistants will help prepare a Montessori environment that challenges each child to reach their fullest potential under the direction of the Lead Teachers. The assistant teacher is also responsible for maintaining the operation of the classroom in accordance with state licensing requirements. The assistant teacher performs his/her services under the direction and supervision of the EEC Director/Children's House Coordinator.


The Assistant Teacher is essential for the daily success of the classroom by helping prepare the environment, maintaining order in the classroom, and managing the tone and volume for the classroom as Lead Teachers work with individual students and small groups of students.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist Lead Teacher in the preparation and maintenance of classroom materials, environment, and curriculum.
  • Classroom teaching, assist children with toileting and hygiene.
  • Assist Lead Teacher in keeping excellent student records.
  • Develop a mutually beneficial relationship with parents of students through ongoing responsible, timely, and respectful communication.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, school events (e .g., Curriculum Nights, Parent Nights, etc.)
  • Collaborate with coworkers to provide the best possible educational experience for students.
  • When requested, participate in meetings and reviews for students with special needs.
  • Represent the school in a positive light, whether in or out of school.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Experience preferably in early childhood education
  • Willingness to pursue certification with the State of MA
  • Interest in Montessori Philosophy
  • Calm and peaceful disposition
  • A strong desire for ongoing learning about teaching, children, education, and Montessori
  • EEC Certification Preferred but not Required
