LEGACY EARLY COLLEGE OVERVIEW
Legacy Early College is a K4-12 public charter school that originated through the vision of businessman William Brown in 2009, with an unwavering focus on "To and Through College" at every grade level. Legacy's model combines academics, nutrition, physical fitness, and mental health. In addition to our college-driven academic standards, meals are made on site, scholars participate in PE every day, and Social-Emotional Literacy is integrated into the culture and curriculum.
POSITION OVERVIEW
Legacy Early College ("Legacy") is looking for talented and committed educators to serve as Teacher's Assistants for our 4K classes. Our Teacher's Assistants will assist in the decision-making process for the establishment of curriculum and culture as they develop a world-class education program from the stages of vision to execution. Our Teacher's Assistants will assist with ensuring that our scholars have the opportunity to learn in an environment of joyful, excellent teaching. Above all else, the ideal Teacher's Assistant will find joy and purpose in teaching children the habits necessary to be successful in school, and they will relish the opportunity to imbue our students with a love for learning.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties
  • Prepare for classes assigned and show written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate supervisor
  • Assess student learning in an ongoing manner while providing frequent student feedback, information to parents and written progress reports as directed by lead Teacher
  • Maintain order in the classroom in a fair and just manner
  • Meet with the lead Teacher to plan lessons and discuss upcoming classroom events
  • Observe lead teachers and debrief on classroom management and instructional strategies
  • Meet professional obligations such as meeting deadlines and honoring schedules
  • Actively participate in professional development, grade level, and department meetings

Qualifications
  • 2 years college/ Associates degree
  • Student teaching and/or paraprofessional experience preferred

Work Schedule
This position operates on the 10-month schedule based on the Legacy Early College centralized calendar.
