Job description

As a Curriculum Coordinator with The Menta Education Group, you will be responsible for academic programming and oversight of special education compliance.
3049 West Harrison St. Chicago, IL 60612
6:45am-2:15pm CT, Monday-Friday, following a school calendar
Responsibilities
  • Provide guidance and support to teaching staff, assistants and aides on the instruction of students with disabilities in academic subjects.
  • Develop and implement technology-based learning
  • Collaborate with teaching staff on the development and update of IEP goals and progress for students on assigned caseload.
  • Monitor credits and courses required for graduation for students; Support teaching staff in preparing assignments, grading assignments, and preparing reports.
  • In collaboration with administration, maintain all student transcripts, graduation analysis documents and progress reports.
  • Coordinate and communicate with other staff members in order to ensure consistent application of the academic and therapeutic program.

Qualifications
  • Current PEL (Professional Educator License) with LBS1 Endorsement
  • Curriculum & Instruction Endorsement on the PEL, preferred but not required
  • Extensive knowledge of IEP Writing and Process
  • Knowledge of Think Cerca, Myon, and/or MobyMax is ideal
  • Ability to coach and lead educational staff
  • A strong background in Special Education including but not limited to cognitive & LD, Autism, BD, ED and OHI
  • Experience in PBIS and trauma-informed programming is a plus
  • Excellent organization, time management, and follow-up skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to speak and write clearly and persuasively
  • Exceptional problem-solving, critical thinking, and strategic planning skills
  • Ability to multitask
