The starting pay for this position is $20.02 an hour with an additional $2 an hour shift differential for nights.
Job Summary:
Machine Operators are responsible for machine operation and inspection to ensure smooth production flow. Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Production experience is desirable
Essential Skills and Abilities:
- Basic math skills
- Ability to perform duties in an organized and timely manner
- Manual dexterity
- Ability to read and understand manuals and standards in English
- Good eye-hand coordination
Essential Duties / Job Responsibilities:
- Performs job responsibilities according to the work instructions for the production area.
- Prepares the work area with the necessary items to ensure efficient and accurate process flow.
- Facilitates smooth flow of products through the production process by promoting good communication, cooperation, and teamwork with all other departments.
- Helps maintain a neat, clean, and orderly work area according to the 5S system.
- Handles all chemicals and other hazardous materials according to the Material Safety Data Sheets.
- Performs work one product at a time to avoid mixing products.
- Records the proper information on required process papers, charts, check lists, or other control sheets.
- Notifies Lead Operator and /or Production Supervisor if there is an accident or any abnormal situation concerning the product or work environment.
- Ensures safety by using proper personal protective equipment when required and by having it conveniently available at all times while in the work area.
- Performs other work-related duties as required by the Production Supervisor or other manager equivalent personnel.
Physical Demands:
Performing the job duties requires standing for long periods of time, bending, stooping, and working in small, cramped areas.
Work Environment:
While performing job duties, team members are in a physical controlled environment protected from weather conditions, with noise levels at a minimal.
