Job description

Primary Responsibilities
In the role of CEI Inspector, you will be expected to:
• Read, interpret, and understand construction drawings and specifications
• Conduct and document observations of construction operations as work progresses
• Perform material testing in the field and complete associated forms as required
• Collaborate with other CEI Inspectors and Project Managers
• Provide guidance to less-experienced field staff as needed
• Perform other duties as needed

Required Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent plus two (2) years' experience in construction inspection, one (1) year of which shall have been in roadway, bridge or signal/ITS construction inspection, or an Engineer Intern with a Civil Engineering degree seeking construction inspection experience.
  • TDOT experience preferred.
  • The following TDOT, or equivalent, technician certifications are desired but not required for employment:
  • Asphalt Roadway Paving Inspector
  • Asphalt Plant Technician
  • Class 1 Concrete Technician
  • Soils and Aggregate Technician
  • Nuclear Gauge Training
  • EPSC TDEC Level I
  • OSHA 10 Safety Training Construction
  • Guardrail Installation Training
  • IMSA Work Zone Traffic Control
  • IMSA Traffic Signal Inspector
  • Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience with SiteManager and LIMS preferred but not required.
  • Strong written and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently or as part of team.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license

Work Environment:
  • 40 Hours plus per week
  • Night-Work as required.
  • Daily travel to and from project construction sites and meetings
  • Work is outdoors in varying weather conditions.
