Commercial Drywall Mechanic (TDCJ Project)

Location: Marlin, TX

Employment Type: Full-Time | Temporary Project (Estimated through December)

Pay Rate: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour (Based on Experience)

Schedule: 5 Days per Week / 10-Hour Shifts (Overtime Available)

Per Diem: $75.00 per Work Day (Available for employees residing more than 60 miles from the project site.)


Job Summary

MEMCO is seeking experienced Commercial Drywall Mechanics for an active construction project in Marlin, TX. We are looking for skilled professionals with experience in commercial drywall systems, including metal stud framing, drywall hanging, taping, floating, and finishing.

This project is expected to continue through December and offers consistent overtime, competitive pay, and daily per diem for qualifying travelers.


Essential Job Duties
  • Install metal stud framing in accordance with project specifications.
  • Measure, cut, and hang drywall panels.
  • Tape, bed, float, and finish drywall to achieve a high-quality finish.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings and layouts when required.
  • Operate and maintain drywall hand tools and power tools safely.
  • Perform quality workmanship while meeting production schedules.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Work effectively with supervisors and other trades on-site.


Qualifications
  • Commercial drywall experience required.
  • Hands-on experience with:
  • Metal stud framing
  • Drywall hanging
  • Taping
  • Floating
  • Finishing
  • Ability to read a tape measure and perform accurate layout work.
  • Must have personal drywall hand tools.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work.

  • Must successfully receive TDCJ clearance before reporting to the project.
