We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Associate to join our accounting team in Woodside, NY. Job Details Salary: From $75,000 per year Job Type: Full Time Location: Woodside, NY 11377 Position Summary As a Payroll Associate, you will manage accurate and timely payroll processing for all employee groups, including executives, exempt, non-exempt, union, and non-union staff. You will ensure compliance with payroll tax laws, maintain payroll records, and perform reconciliations and reporting. Experience with payroll software and general ledger systems, preferably within an automotive dealership, is required. Responsibilities Obtain and verify payroll data such as new hires, terminations, salary changes, bonuses, commissions, tax allocations, and deductions prior to payroll processing. Process payroll transactions and ensure timely payment for all employees. Coordinate with management to review and approve preliminary payroll batches. Analyze and reconcile payroll and payroll tax general ledger accounts. Ensure compliance with all payroll tax regulations, organizational policies, and union agreements. Accurately integrate payroll data into financial and accounting systems. Manage timely electronic payroll feeds and perform reconciliations. Prepare and file payroll tax forms; address payroll tax issues year-round and during calendar year-end. Communicate updates and project progress to the CFO, Operations Controller, and General Managers. Investigate and resolve payroll-related employee or system issues. Manage reporting requirements related to the Affordable Care Act. Perform additional duties as assigned to support department objectives. Work Environment This full-time role is based at our Woodside, NY dealership. You will collaborate with team members across multiple departments in a fast-paced, high-volume automotive environment. Job Requirement:Job Requirements Three to five years of payroll experience, preferably in an automotive dealership environment. Strong knowledge of payroll principles, payroll tax laws, and problem resolution techniques. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience with payroll and general ledger software; familiarity with CDK/ADP DMS systems is a plus. Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and thoroughness. Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team. Trustworthy and reliable with the ability to maintain confidentiality. Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent interpersonal skills to handle sensitive information and communicate professionally at all organizational levels. Familiarity with automotive dealership documentation and accounting principles is preferred. Professional demeanor with strong communication and collaboration abilities.
