Essential Functions
This position is to coordinate the documentation of training and customer service aspects of Coastal Bend College's partnership with TDCJ. In addition, the Continuing Education Administrative Assistant- TDCJ will assist with supporting TDCJ employees through CBC processes. The Continuing Education Administrative Assistant - TDCJ will also ensure compliance with student documents and record retention.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Coordinate TDCJ visits to provide scantrons and receive scantrons for enrollment
  • Establish a sense of rapport with TDCJ administrators and staff
  • Create an environment known for great customer service
  • Implement processes and procedures related to program creation and student enrollment.
  • Understand the Workforce Education Course Manual (WECM)
  • Create systems to ensure compliance with documentation.
  • Research local and state regulations related to the programs that we are offering.
  • Monitor course paperwork to ensure that grades are entered, and documents are filed correctly.
Assist in providing training to new TDCJ instructors.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
GED, High School Diploma
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with TDCJ.
Supplemental Information
Other Duties:
This position is to work within the continuing education department to create and maintain training opportunities for TDCJ employees.
  • Will participate in college responsibilities such as tasks force
Travel Requirements:
Travel will be required between TDCJ training locations.
