Job Description:
At TD Securities, the CIB Credit function is an integral part of the full suite of services we offer under Investment Banking. Our Investment Banking professionals provide corporate and institutional clients with capital markets and banking advice and transaction executions worldwide.

You will be exposed to a wide variety of clients, industries, financing structures and products. You will also work in a team environment, building your corporate and commercial finance banking skills necessary to be successful in the industry.
Analysts support our deal teams across multiple facets as we lead corporate and commercial banking transactions and work closely with our partners on newly originated transactions and refinancings, as well as with our debt capital markets, equity capital markets, and risk management teams. Ideal candidates will demonstrate strong attention to detail, responsiveness, and a proactive attitude. Senior Bankers support training, mentorship, and advancement in the industry as you grow with our team.
In this capacity you will:
  • Support the credit team responsible for Commercial, Mid-Market and Institutional CRE Clients exposure related to Derivative transactions, including swaps, FX, and equity derivatives.
  • Contribute to the analysis and preparation of credit request submissions related to new transactions.
  • Participate in the review of related loan, collateral and ISDA documentation.
  • Coordinate with the Corporate Risk Solutions partners to manage the process related to new transaction requests.
  • Participate in on-going review and monitoring of the portfolio.
  • Contribute to daily, monthly and quarterly production of internal reports.
  • Support the various monitoring and control requirements of the group.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and strong academic background required.
  • Excellent quantitative, verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Strong computer skills, including command of Microsoft Office with a particular emphasis on Excel.
  • Basic understanding of corporate finance and accounting
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment dealing with multiple transaction simultaneously
  • Ability to multi-task with strong attention to detail.

Depth & Scope
  • Works more independently but under the guidance and review of lead staff
  • Good understanding of loan risk factors
  • Ability to understand client corporate structure and syndicated loan documentation
  • Integral part of loan origination process. Responsible for performing underwriting analysis of Borrower's character, credit worthiness and financial condition
  • Prepares insightful and timely request memorandums for presentation to appropriate lending and credit authorities
  • May maintain credit files, monitor data such as updated financial statements and prepare updated analysis memos
  • Provides written analysis that identifies any deviations from Policy and becomes familiar with alternative structures in order to reduce credit risk
  • Achieves operational performance standards in quality and timeliness
  • Participate in managing sub-standard/work-out credits

Education & Experience:
  • 4 year degree or equivalent experience
  • 1+ years related experience required
  • Developed knowledge of credit and financial analysis techniques
  • Exhibits the ability to gather, consolidate, analyze and summarize data to provide well-considered recommendations on an increasingly independent basis
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • Developed PC skills including demonstrated proficiency and capability in word processing and spreadsheet software
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of credit and Customer information
  • Good interpersonal skills and a team orientation
