Field accounting refers to the practice of managing and recording financial transactions, expenses, and budgets directly at project sites or remote locations, rather than at a central office. Field accountants ensure that all financial activities on-site are documented accurately, often in industries like construction, oil and gas, or utilities. They play a crucial role in tracking project costs, processing invoices, and supporting compliance with company policies and regulations. This helps provide real-time financial oversight, supports project managers in decision-making, and ensures that projects stay within budget.
