Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce's client is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (C/C++, TCP/IP) to join a talented engineering team building and supporting a complex content delivery network that powers customer experiences worldwide.
Summary:
In this role, you will help design, develop, test, and operate large-scale distributed systems and Linux-based applications in a collaborative environment. The Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to create innovative solutions that directly enhance customer applications and services. This position is ideal for an experienced software engineer who can take high-level requirements, identify and solve complex technical challenges, and drive implementation independently.
Responsibilities:
* Design and implementation of large-scale distributed service architectures
* Design, develop, test, and maintain Linux-based software systems and applications
* Develop innovative solutions that improve customer experience and system performance
* Lead or participate in technical design reviews
* Collaborate cross-functionally to achieve software development and operational goals
* Support and enhance existing software platforms used globally
* Contribute to embedded software, monitoring, and testing infrastructure across the network
REQUIREMENTS:
* 7+ years of hands-on software engineering experience using C, C++ and Linux
* Expertise with network protocols such as TCP/IP
* Strong ability to write and communicate technical designs effectively
* Knowledge of modern CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
* Ability to lead the design and implementation of distributed service architectures from high-level requirements
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
