Job description

Job Tittle: PIM Architect
Location: Atlanta, GA (Remote role)
Position Overview:
As a PIM Architect, you will be responsible for defining the overall PIM solution architecture and guiding the design and enhancement of PIM capabilities. The role requires strong hands-on experience with enterprise PIM platforms and a deep understanding of product information management, data modelling, governance, workflows, enrichment, syndication, and omnichannel product experiences.
You will work closely with Product Managers, Data Architects, business stakeholders, development teams, and other enterprise architecture teams to design scalable PIM solutions and continuously enhance the platform based on PIM best practices and evolving business requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
• PIM Solution Architecture:
§ Define the overall solution architecture for PIM implementations and enhancements.
§ Design scalable and maintainable PIM solutions aligned with business and technical requirements.
§ Define PIM capabilities covering product data modelling, taxonomy, enrichment, workflows, validation, governance, and syndication.
§ Ensure PIM architecture supports scalability, performance, maintainability, and future business needs.
• PIM Feature Enhancement:
§ Guide the enhancement of existing PIM capabilities to improve business processes and end-user experience.
§ Analyse existing PIM functionality and identify opportunities for optimization and automation.
§ Recommend solutions that align with PIM best practices while minimizing unnecessary customization.
§ Guide teams in designing intuitive and efficient PIM experiences for business users.
§ Ensure new features and enhancements maintain consistency across the overall PIM architecture.
• Product Data Architecture:
§ Define and review product data models, taxonomies, hierarchies, attributes, relationships, classifications, and reference data.
§ Ensure product data structures support enrichment, governance, and downstream syndication requirements.
§ Guide implementation teams on complex data modelling and PIM configuration decisions.
§ Ensure data architecture supports multiple markets, brands, channels, and business requirements where applicable.
• Workflow, Governance and Data Quality:
§ Define PIM workflows and business processes for product creation, enrichment, review, approval, and publication.
§ Guide implementation of validation rules, business rules, approval processes, and data quality controls.
§ Establish PIM governance standards and recommend best practices for managing product information.
§ Ensure PIM solutions support data completeness, accuracy, consistency, and governance requirements.
• Integration and Syndication:
§ Define and review PIM integration architecture with ERP, eCommerce, DAM, CRM, marketplaces, and other enterprise systems.
§ Guide product data flows between PIM and upstream/downstream systems.
§ Define appropriate approaches for product data syndication across multiple sales and digital channels.
§ Ensure integrations and syndication solutions are scalable and aligned with enterprise architecture principles.
§ Guide teams in resolving complex integration and data-flow challenges.
• Technical Leadership:
§ Provide architectural guidance to PIM developers, data architects, product managers, and implementation teams.
§ Review solution designs and ensure alignment with defined PIM architecture and standards.
§ Identify technical risks, dependencies, and architectural gaps and provide appropriate recommendations.
§ Support technical discussions, design reviews.
Qualifications:
• PIM Skills:
§ Strong hands-on experience with enterprise Product Information Management (PIM) platforms.
§ Strong experience with at least one major PIM platform; Akeneo, Syndigo, or Salsify preferred.
§ Strong understanding of PIM architecture, product data modeling, taxonomy, workflows, governance, enrichment, validation, and syndication.
§ Strong understanding of omnichannel product information management and digital commerce.
§ Ability to design solutions using standard PIM capabilities and identify when customization is appropriate.
• Architecture and Technical Skills:
§ Strong experience designing PIM solution architectures and enterprise integrations.
§ Strong understanding of APIs, integration patterns, data flows, and system-to-system integrations.
§ Experience integrating PIM with ERP, eCommerce, DAM, CRM, marketplaces, and other enterprise platforms.
§ Strong understanding of data modelling and product information architecture.
§ Understanding of cloud-based architectures and modern integration patterns is a plus.
• Experience:
§ Significant experience working on PIM implementations, enhancements, or transformation programs.
§ Experience designing and enhancing PIM solutions for large and complex product catalogs.
§ Experience working across multiple PIM platforms is highly preferred.
§ Experience supporting multiple markets, brands, languages, channels, or business units is a plus.
§ Experience working with cross-functional business and technical teams.
§ Experience in PXM, eCommerce, DAM, MDM, or digital commerce ecosystems is a plus.
• Education/ Certifications:
§ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
§ Relevant PIM is a plus.
