Job description

Responsibilities

OBXtek is seeking an Instructional Delivery Specialist 1 who is responsible for working collaboratively with various stakeholders in the instruction, design, development, and conceptualization of inter-directorate and intra-office curricula. This position requires the incumbent to have basic experience working in positions of leadership and/or management. The incumbent must also have training or experience in applying best practices in instructional methodologies. The Instructional Specialist maintains proficiency in the instruction of all created materials while working closely with other program offices and subject matter experts to design, develop, and maintain curriculum. The incumbent requires frequent and direct supervision and mentoring to navigate established program policies and procedures.

Major Duties:

  • Complete self-paced comprehensive study by mastering all courses in designated discipline and other TSE topics to teach multiple training topicscovering at least 5 instructional days of course materials, within 12 months of hire.
  • Evaluates instructors for certification evaluation program to ensure instructors are properly trained in current instructional methods, principles of adult learning, and applicable subject matter.
  • Participates in every facet of the instructional design process to support curriculum development to include drafting and editing training curriculum, lesson plans, presentations, activities and other course materials.
  • Supports and provides course evaluations for alpha, beta, and pilot testing to ensure training curriculum adheres to the adult education standards and ELM principles.
  • Supports multiple projects with overlapping requirements and provides weekly course activity updates to meet rapid development timelines.
  • Assists curriculum management by maintaining all curriculum records, scheduling and conducting curriculum reviews, making updates, and tracking revision history.
  • Obtain and maintain TSE-certified instructor certification within 12 months of hire.
Qualifications

Education/Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree with a concentration in adult learning, education, or curriculum development; master's degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of professional experience working in a collaborative environment in instructor and leadership curriculum design and development based on several of the following: instructional systems design, education and adult learning principles, ELM principles, Bloom's Taxonomy, cooperative learning, programming, and authoring tools.
  • 2+ years in public speaking, delivering briefings, or instructing in formal learning environments is required.
  • 1+ years of experience in supporting Department of State installations is desired.

Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge in leadership training and best practices.
  • Basic knowledge level and experience working in all five phases of the Instructional Systems Design model and creating assessments is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, high attention to detail, selfstarter, results driven, and ability to follow through on details are essential.
  • Demonstrated skill of shifting approach in response to the demands of changing situations.
  • Excellent writing, proofreading and design skills to develop training course materials.
  • Must possess excellent written and spoken use of the English language.
  • Professional proficiency in Microsoft 365 and SharePoint applications.
