What are different jobs in the tax industry?

Jobs in the tax industry include those at the local, state, and federal levels, from entry-level tax accountants and clerks to senior advisors and associates, to ensure taxes are filed correctly for various government-run departments. There are also jobs working with professional service providers such as public accounting firms, private law firms with tax practices, and specialty tax consulting. There are positions with corporate tax offices for US and international companies, non-profits, and foundations. If you work at a corporation as a tax advisor, you can choose a niche such as healthcare or manufacturing to provide clients with more specific tax advice. Professional service firms offer the most opportunity straight out of college, followed by national and tax consulting firms.
