What are different jobs in the tax industry?

Jobs in the tax industry include those at the local, state, and federal levels, from entry-level tax accountants and clerks to senior advisors and associates, to ensure taxes are filed correctly for various government-run departments. There are also jobs working with professional service providers such as public accounting firms, private law firms with tax practices, and specialty tax consulting. What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a tax professional, and why are they important?
