Job Title: Certified Public Accountant โ€“ Federal Accounting (Talent Network)
Location: Herndon, VA (or Northern Virginia region) โ€” On-site
Clearance Required: Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph About This Opportunity: We're not filling a specific role right now, but we're actively building relationships with experienced, cleared Certified Public Accountants ahead of upcoming federal accounting work. Our goal is to know the right people before a role opens, so we can move fast and make a strong match when it does. Key Responsibilities (Representative of Future Roles): - Perform general ledger reconciliation and maintain accuracy across federal financial systems.
- Support compliance with OMB Circulars (e.g., A-123, A-136) and other federal financial management guidance.
- Assist with internal control assessments and audit readiness activities.
- Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with federal GAAP and applicable federal accounting standards (FASAB).
- Support external and internal audits, including PBC (Provided by Client) documentation and response to auditor inquiries.
- Identify and resolve reconciliation discrepancies, unsupported transactions, and reporting anomalies.
- Collaborate with program and contracts staff to ensure accurate cost accounting and compliance with federal appropriations law.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes for federal accounts. Required Qualifications: - Active CPA license.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a federal or federal-contracting environment.
- Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph โ€” required to start.
- Working knowledge of federal accounting standards, OMB compliance requirements, and general ledger systems.
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work on-site in a secure facility environment. Preferred Qualifications: - Experience supporting IC financial management or audit engagements.
- Familiarity with federal financial systems.
- Experience with financial statement audit support or remediation of audit findings.
