Job description

Responsibilities
  • Support the goal of maximizing the afterโ€‘tax return of the group
  • Research complex issues arising from new business activity and legislative developments
  • Lead advanced tax systems improvements and process improvements
  • Participate in the professional trade tax committees and working groups
  • Prepare, coordinate, oversee and review the most complex aspects of the tax compliance and tax provision processes
  • Research, model, and draft arguments of complex issues for tax audits and appeals
  • Identify and lead process improvement department projects
  • Evaluate strengths of the position and recommend strategies
  • Assist management in analyzing and integrating data related to mergers and acquisitions
  • Provide training to tax staff and develop ongoing internal and external relationships
Requirements
  • CPA license preferred
  • 5+ years of experience preferred
  • Experience with GAAP and statutory accounting
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing complex concepts related to taxation, insurance accounting, or a related field
  • Experience working in the insurance industry preferred
  • Understanding of accounting, accounting systems, budget, or tax concepts
  • Demonstrated experience communicating complex financial information
  • Demonstrated experience providing customerโ€‘focused solutions or support
