Job description

Job Status:
Open - open and accepting applications
Duties and Responsibilities: This position serves as the liaison on IT matters between the Tax Department's management and staff and other County Departments such as IT, Planning and Permitting. Assists in installing, troubleshooting, and repairing hardware and software and providing instructions to end users on the proper use of computer equipment and software. This position also performs the communication and technical work necessary to maintain the integrity, implementation and continued operation of various software applications and IT-related projects used by the Tax Department. Work will involve coordination with the County's IT Department and with external vendors to set up new equipment, initiate software releases and the training and support of end users. Work is performed under regular supervision. Reports to the Tax Collector.
Qualifications: General knowledge of the operation of computer equipment and accompanying technology. Knowledge of local and regional laws regarding assessment of property and the collection of property tax bills. Ability to research and maintain a level of knowledge of new technology, systems, and equipment. Proficiency in project management with strong computer and analytical skills. Ability to work within specified workflows and processes. Ability to assess business needs and translate into relevant solutions using analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully and to maintain healthy working relationships with Tax Department management and staff, other County Departments and with external stakeholders, the general public and vendors; ability to attend work regularly.
