Tax Resolution Manager information

What jobs make $1,000,000 a year?

In the context of a Tax Resolution Manager, earning $1,000,000 annually is uncommon and typically associated with top executives, successful entrepreneurs, or highly specialized professionals. Such high earnings often require extensive experience, advanced certifications, or ownership of a profitable business. Most tax professionals or managers do not reach this income level without additional income sources or equity stakes.

What are some common challenges faced by Tax Resolution Managers, and how can they address them effectively?

Tax Resolution Managers often encounter challenges such as managing complex client cases with tight deadlines, navigating changing tax regulations, and communicating effectively with both clients and tax authorities. To address these, it’s essential to stay current on tax laws, prioritize strong organizational skills, and foster clear, empathetic communication. Building a collaborative relationship with team members and leveraging technology for case tracking can also help streamline processes and improve client outcomes.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Tax Resolution Manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Tax Resolution Manager, you need in-depth knowledge of tax laws, IRS procedures, and financial analysis, often supported by a degree in accounting, finance, or a related field and relevant certifications such as Enrolled Agent (EA) or CPA. Proficiency with tax software, case management systems, and document management tools is essential. Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills set outstanding professionals apart when dealing with clients and tax authorities. These abilities are crucial for effectively resolving complex tax issues, ensuring compliance, and maintaining client trust.

What is the highest paying tax job?

The highest paying tax-related job is often a Tax Director or Tax Partner at a large accounting or consulting firm, with salaries exceeding $200,000 annually plus bonuses. These roles require extensive experience, advanced certifications like CPA or JD, and strong leadership skills. Senior tax managers and specialized tax attorneys can also earn high compensation depending on the industry and location.

How do tax resolution companies get paid?

Tax resolution managers typically work for companies that charge either a flat fee, an hourly rate, or a percentage of the amount saved or settled. Payment structures depend on the services provided and the company's policies, often requiring clear agreements before work begins. Professionals in this field should understand fee arrangements and ensure transparency with clients.

Job description

About Us

Washington & Co Inc. is a leading provider of strategic tax and accounting advisory services, specializing in tax planning, tax preparation, tax resolution, entity creation and dissolution, monthly accounting, payroll, and proactive CFO services. With over 17 years of expertise, we are committed to delivering forward-thinking solutions and results-driven financial strategies for our clients.

Position Description:

We are looking for a confident, experienced, and licensed Tax Strategist who thrives on strategy, not just compliance. This isn't a role for someone who wants to stay buried in tax prep-it's for someone who wants to look ahead, anticipate issues before they happen, and help clients grow through smart, forward-thinking tax planning.

If you love advising clients year-round, uncovering tax savings, and being the person they trust to guide their financial decisions-not just react to them-you're exactly who I want on my team.

Who We Are Looking For

  • Someone who is strategic by nature-you see the bigger picture and know how to plan for it.
  • Someone who thrives under pressure, can pivot quickly, and still gets the job done.
  • Someone who doesn't say "that's not my job"-you roll up your sleeves, dive in, and figure it out.
  • Someone who can switch between high-level analysis and detailed review without missing a beat.
  • Someone who loves helping people, goes the extra mile, and gets excited about finding creative tax solutions.

What You'll Do

  • Lead client relationships built on proactive guidance and year-round tax-saving strategies.
  • Analyze tax returns and financial data to spot opportunities before anyone else does.
  • Implement tax strategies on entity structure, compensation, retirement planning, and deductions.
  • Stay ahead of tax law changes and explain their impact to clients in plain language.
  • Partner with our accounting team to make sure clients have seamless, full-service support.
  • Help onboard new clients and make their first experience with us exceptional.

What You Bring

  • EA or CPA REQUIRED- you must be licensed to represent clients.
  • At least 3 years in tax strategy or advisory (more than just prep).
  • Excellent communication-you're comfortable on Zoom, in writing, and face-to-face.
  • Confidence delivering complex advice clearly and decisively.
  • Strong organizational skills-you can juggle multiple clients and timelines with ease.
  • Familiarity with tax planning software (like Corvee, Tax Planner Pro) or strong Excel skills.

Who You Are

You're not looking for a routine job-you want a role where you can think critically, advise boldly, and make a measurable impact. You see potential problems before they appear and already have solutions in mind. You take feedback well, communicate openly, and thrive in a team that values honesty and initiative.

Confidence can sometimes hold us back from applying for a job. But we'll let you in on a secret: there's no such thing as a 'perfect' candidate. Washington Accounting Services Inc.is a place where everyone can grow. So however you identify and whatever background you bring with you, please apply if this is a role that would make you excited to come into work every day.

How to Apply:

If you are enthusiastic about contributing to a forward-thinking and innovative accounting practice, please apply by submitting your resume and a cover letter detailing your relevant experience and passion for working with businesses.

Next Steps:

After reviewing applications, qualified candidates will be contacted for an initial interview. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to participate in subsequent rounds of interviews to further assess fit and compatibility with our firm's values and culture.
