As a tax professional, you will play an integral role in providing high-quality tax compliance, planning, and advisory services to a diverse client base. You will prepare and review complex tax returns, develop tax planning strategies, assist clients with accounting and recordkeeping matters, and serve as a trusted advisor to individuals and closely held businesses.

Unlike larger firms, our professionals work directly with clients and business owners, developing long-term relationships built on trust, responsiveness, and personalized service. You will have the opportunity to understand each client's unique goals and provide practical solutions that help them make informed financial and business decisions.

As a member of our team, you will mentor staff, contribute to the firm's continued growth, and enjoy a collaborative environment where your ideas and expertise are valued. Success in this role is measured not only by technical excellence but by the lasting relationships you build with clients who rely on you as their trusted advisor.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for:
    • Individuals (Form 1040)
    • Partnerships (Form 1065)
    • Corporations (Forms 1120 and 1120S)
    • Fiduciary returns (Form 1041)
    • Nonprofit organizations (Form 990)
    • Gift, estate, payroll, and other specialty tax returns as needed
  • Research complex tax issues and communicate practical solutions to clients.
  • Develop proactive tax planning strategies for individuals and businesses.
  • Advise clients on business planning, entity selection, succession planning, and other strategic tax matters.
  • Assist clients with bookkeeping, accounting questions, and recordkeeping best practices.
  • Review financial information for tax reporting accuracy and identify planning opportunities.
  • Respond to IRS and state tax notices and assist with tax examinations.
  • Manage multiple client engagements while meeting established deadlines.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through responsive communication and exceptional service.
  • Mentor and assist junior staff by providing technical guidance and reviewing work.
  • Stay current with changes in tax laws and regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required;
  • CPA license or actively pursuing certification.
  • Minimum of 3 years of public accounting tax experience preferred.
  • Strong experience preparing and reviewing individual, partnership, S corporation, C corporation, fiduciary, and nonprofit tax returns.
  • Experience with QuickBooks and/or similar accounting software.
  • Experience with CCH ProSystem fx Tax, CCH Axcess Tax, or comparable professional tax software.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong client service orientation with a commitment to building lasting client relationships.
