Job description

Position Responsibilities

  • Assemble various types of tax returns such as Corporate, Partnership, individual, fiduciary, trusts, and payroll

  • Responsible for the internal database including updating status steps, setting-up new clients, deleting lost clients, as well as printing out due date reports for Managers

  • Tracks processing activities including timing and completion

  • Assess electronically-submitted returns and instruction sheets for completeness/precision

  • Responsible for scanning documents into SurePrep and learning/using other computer/technology, and tax technology applications (e.g., CCH ProSystem FX, FirmFlow, SuperForms, etc.) will likely be on-the-job training.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of office experience performing clerical work

  • Experience working for an accounting firm is a plus, but not required

  • Strong computer skills in MS Office and Window operating systems

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary sitting position for at least 75% of the time.

  • Must be able to lift at least 15 lbs- specific job duties may require additional lifting to move, transport, position and install equipment.

  • Frequently positions self to bend and lift packages.

  • Occasional moving & lifting of equipment; bending, lifting, climbing required to position self to maintain computers during engagements.

  • Person in position needs to occasionally move about the inside of the office to access machinery, cabinets, etc.

  • Person in position frequently communicates with individuals who have inquires. Must be able to exchange information in these situations.

  • Ability to work in a high stress environment.

  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license are required including a clean driving record.

  • Minimum levels of auto insurance coverage are required.

  • Ability to travel locally, work overtime and weekends is required.

  • Ability to travel overnight or internationally may be required.

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required


This is a non-exempt position that could be on a part-time basis based on a candidate's flexibility. Expected schedule would be between 20 hours minimum or hours that exceed the standard 40-hour work week.

Colorado hourly rate range is as follows: $31.00 - $36.00
Illinois hourly rate range is as follows: $31.00 - $36.00
