Position Summary
As a Senior Manager of Tax Services - Corporate / Business Services, you will serve as a trusted advisor to clients and a key leader within the tax practice. This role is responsible for overseeing complex tax engagements, providing advanced tax planning and consulting services, and driving the delivery of high-quality client solutions.
The Senior Manager will take ownership of significant client relationships, mentor and develop managers and staff, and collaborate closely with partners on client strategy, practice growth, and firm initiatives. This position offers a clear path to Director and Partner-level leadership for high-performing professionals.
Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary relationship manager for complex and high-value corporate and business services tax clients
  • Oversee and direct multiple tax engagements, ensuring technical excellence, risk management, and timely delivery
  • Lead advanced tax planning and consulting projects involving C corporations, partnerships, S corporations, and high-net-worth individuals
  • Identify and proactively address tax risks and planning opportunities, providing strategic recommendations aligned with client business objectives
  • Review and approve complex federal, state, and local income tax returns and related filings
  • Provide technical leadership on complex tax issues, including multi-state taxation, entity structuring, and transactional matters
  • Manage and resolve federal and state tax audits, examinations, and notices
  • Collaborate with partners to develop and execute client service strategies, engagement pricing, and scope management
  • Play an active role in business development efforts, including identifying cross-selling opportunities, participating in client proposals, and expanding existing client relationships
  • Lead, mentor, and develop managers, seniors, and staff through coaching, performance evaluations, and technical training
  • Drive process improvements, standardization, and adoption of best practices to enhance efficiency and scalability
  • Monitor engagement economics, including budgeting, billing, and realization
  • Represent the firm professionally in client meetings, internal leadership discussions, and external networking opportunities

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
  • CPA license required
  • Master's degree in Taxation or related field strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 8+ years of progressive tax experience, including significant experience in business entity taxation within a public accounting environment
  • Demonstrated expertise in tax compliance and consulting for C corporations, partnerships, and S corporations
  • Strong technical knowledge of federal and state tax regulations, with the ability to apply complex rules to practical client situations
  • Proven experience managing complex engagements and serving as the primary client contact
  • Track record of mentoring and developing high-performing teams and future leaders
  • Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Strong project management, organizational, and leadership abilities
