Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Tax Associate to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in tax preparation and client service who is looking for a stable, long-term position in a collaborative and professional environment.

The ideal candidate is technically strong, dependable, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently, while also being a supportive team player. We are looking for someone experienced and confident in their work who values meaningful client relationships and teamwork.

This position offers the opportunity to work with a wide variety of individual, business, trust and estate clients, gain additional exposure to complex tax situations, and contribute meaningfully to client success in a supportive and team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare individual, business, trust, and estate tax returns with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Conduct tax research and apply current tax laws and regulations to client situations.
  • Identify tax planning opportunities and provide practical recommendations to clients and team members.
  • Prepare financial statements, workpapers, and supporting documentation.
  • Communicate directly with clients regarding tax matters, document requests, and follow-up items.
  • Collaborate with partners and team members on tax planning and special projects.
  • Maintain organized and accurate client files and documentation.
  • Assist with IRS and state tax notices and correspondence as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of public accounting and/or tax preparation experience required.
  • Strong understanding of federal and state tax compliance for individuals and businesses.
  • CPA license, CPA candidate, or Enrolled Agent (EA) credential preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and tax/accounting software, CCH Axcess preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage deadlines and multiple client engagements effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
