Role Overview

River Bend is seeking a highly motivated and adaptable individual to join the organization as a Senior Coordinator - Tax & Accounting. This position will provide advanced administrative and operational support across the Tax and Accounting teams taking ownership of complex workflows, ensuring the accuracy and organization of tax and financial records, and supporting compliance activities. This role combines high-volume routine processing, document management, and light problem-solving to enable tax associates and accountants to focus on technical analysis, compliance, and review. The position reports to the Director of Tax, and with input and guidance from the Tax and Accounting teams, you will support the day-to-day tax and accounting work for numerous trusts and other entities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Tax Responsibilities

    Perform routine tax compliance tasks, including filings, payments, and reconciliations.
  • Collect, organize, and distribute supporting documentation for tax returns.
  • Assist with the preparation of simple tax forms, workpapers, and setup of tax software.
  • Research and resolve minor tax discrepancies or notices, serve as a resource for standard tax procedures, and escalate issues to Tax team.
  • Maintain tax calendars, compliance checklists, tracking sheets, and documentation used to support timely tax filings and reviews.
  • Coordinate materials for tax meetings, reviews, and special projects.

Accounting Responsibilities

  • Perform weekly bank reconciliations for 150+ accounts, including identifying discrepancies and coordinating with accounting team members to investigate and resolve issues.
  • Maintain bank reconciliation tracker to ensure completeness, accuracy, and timely reconciliation of all accounts and periods.
  • Research and resolve straightforward accounting discrepancies.
  • Oversee the end-to-end process for 250+ monthly custodial statements, including downloading from portals, uploading to SharePoint, and tracking receipt and archival status.
  • Maintain financial records, schedules, and reporting dashboards.
  • Provide operational support to Accounting team members for ad hoc tasks, special projects, and routine accounting operations.
Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of administrative, accounting, or tax experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage workflows with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Point, Word, SharePoint, etc.)
