Tasting Room Host (Seasonal) - Cline Cellars
SUMMARY
The seasonal Tasting Room Host is responsible for providing the front-line guest experience. The Tasting Room Host provides the best possible experience to all tasting room guests by developing relationships that promote sales and brand loyalty. This position is the champion of customer service in creating the perfect balance of education and memorable experiences.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Set-up and host wine tastings and tours for guests
  • Open, close and operate cash registers and POS systems
  • Sell wine, merchandise and wine club memberships to meet or exceed monthly sales targets
  • Provide service and hospitality that exceeds our guest's expectations
  • Ability to cross sell and promote The Olive Press and Jacuzzi Family Vineyards (our sister properties)
  • Be informed on local hospitality offerings and make recommendations to guests
  • Responsible Hospitality
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, with good presentation skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays and occasional evenings
  • Ability to remain standing and actively working for the full shift
  • Be comfortable addressing and talking to large groups of people
  • Be able to help multiple groups while behind the bar
  • Maintain Tasting Room including organization, inventory, and stocking supplies
  • Assist DTC warehouse by packing shipping orders during slow hospitality times.
  • Passionate about wine and desire to become knowledgeable about our wines and our sustainable farming practices

QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience, Knowledge, and Skills
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • RBS and Food Handler's Certified required or ability to obtain certification
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Exemplary customer service skills
  • Prior hospitality, winery, or front of house restaurant experience
  • Previous experience with POS, Commerce 7, bLoyal, Tock a plus
  • Retail sales experience: ability to present product, up sell & cross sell

Physical Demands
  • Continuous standing, with frequent walking on even and uneven surfaces
  • Intermittent sitting
  • Frequent standing
  • Occasional bending, twisting, climbing, crouching, and crawling.
  • Occasional reaching above and below shoulder height.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs continuously, and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to push and pull up to 50 lbs intermittently
  • Ability to work in an environment that is indoors and outdoors

Pay Rate: $18/hour + tips and incentives
*Must be available to work weekends and holidays
**This is a seasonal part-time position, expected to last through November, with the end date depending on business needs.
