The Manager manages a team of employees who are responsible for selling Tyler products and services. The Manager is responsible for meeting or exceeding a sales quota for the team. A portion of the incumbent’s time may also be spent performing duties related to selling Tyler products and services. The Manager has an impact on Tyler revenue in that the incumbent’s staff is tasked with selling Tyler products and services. The staff under the Manager must meet or exceed sales quotas. The Manager must also ensure staff performs at or above expected levels, and must ensure new staff is brought up to speed in a timely manner.

Responsibilities
  • Develops a strategic sales plan for the assigned client base and/or geographic territory that support senior management objectives.
  • Acts as a resource to sales staff to assist with day-to-day activities as well as to bring newly hired staff up to speed.
  • Provides input to senior management on personnel decisions such as hiring, employee performance and development, etc.
  • Carries out personnel actions as directed from senior management.
  • Successfully builds relationships with targeted audiences to sell Tyler products and services.
  • Generates sales from initial client contact to close of sale.
  • Manages long and complex sales cycles from lead generation to close of sale.
  • Involved in negotiating the initial sales contract.Travels to trade shows and/or client sites as needed.
  • Assists with preparation of RFP responses.
  • Recognize and react to market changes and competitor landscape.
  • Communicate ideas, both verbally and in writing, in a clear and concise manner.
  • Maintain a firm understanding of Tyler products and services.
  • Successfully manage a team of sales professionals who are tasked with selling Tyler products and services.
  • Successfully manage various day-to-day personnel issues, new staff onboarding, challenges with market penetration, etc.
  • Possess knowledge of sales process to be able to negotiate the early stages of sales contracts.
  • Show professionalism when dealing with all aspects of internal and external relationships.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of eight years of experience selling software products and services.
  • Proven experience acting as a resource to staff.
  • Proven ability to conduct discovery/needs analysis with prospective clients and develop a successful action plan.
  • Must possess a competitive drive and results-oriented approach.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills. Previous public speaking experience a plus.
  • Must be a self-starter in addition to a team player.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients and employees required.
  • Must possess general computer (PC) literacy and proficiency with MS Office products.
