Join our team as a Tank Farm Operator on 3rd Shift 8:30pm to 5:00am

Base pay $23-26 plus shift differential.

Sunday + Monday or Wednesday + Thursdays off.

A tank farm operator in the chemical industry is responsible for the safe handling, storage, and transfer of liquid chemicals in a controlled environment. These roles are critical for ensuring product integrity, regulatory compliance, and operational safety.
Role Responsibilities. 

  • Receiving & Staging: Operate yard trucks or forklifts to set and remove semi-trailers, pallets, drums, totes, and pails to the correct dock or storage location
  • Loading/Unloading: Connect and disconnect bulk tank trucks, turn valves, start pumps or air systems, and transfer chemicals to specified tanks 
  • Sampling & Testing: Draw samples for quality control and water quality testing, and monitor water levels during inclement weather 
  • Inspection & Maintenance: Patrol tanks, pumps, valves, piping, and electrical connections; report leaks, pressure/temperature issues, and hazards 
  • Record Keeping: Log materials received/distributed, gauge readings, pumping times, and storage dates 
  • Housekeeping: Maintain clean, safe conditions by emptying diking areas, removing debris, and ensuring proper labeling and placarding 
  • Support Duties: Assist in equipment maintenance, basic receiving, and inventory management
  • Produce and mix chemicals as needed
  • Understand and operate plant equipment and processes
  • Load and Unload tanks, rail cars, tanker trailers, and all other containers
  • Regularly lift 75 pounds
  • Operate pumps, mixers, and blenders
  • Operate forklift
  • Keep work area clean
  • Light maintenance
    Qualifications:
     
  • Desire and demonstrated ability to work safely and promote safety and safe work practices.
  • Be quality conscious.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Stability in work history. Prefer a minimum of 2-3 years of prior work experience.
  • Willing to submit to a background screening.
  • Willing to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and physical.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language well. This is a safety as well as an operational issue.
  • Aptitude to follow written and verbal instructions in detail and learn additional skills with experience.
  • Capacity to work in extreme conditions (temperature) and lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Flexibility to work varying hours or shifts if necessary.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, including the use of tools and equipment, is preferred.
  • Ability to wear applicable personal protective equipment (PPE) including chemical resistant gloves and boots, safety glasses, hard hat, face shield, full-face respirator (if required), chemical splash suit (overalls and jacket)
