Job description
The Liquids Terminal Operator 1 is responsible for the safe, efficient, and smooth operation of various terminal functions, including truck unloading/loading, maintaining terminal cleanliness, assisting with dock and tank farm operations, and adhering to safety protocols. The operator will also apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills, contribute to routine operational tasks, and engage in ongoing training to develop skills.

1. Adherence to Safety Policies and Procedures
Responsibilities:
• Strictly follow all terminal and safety policies and procedures, including hazard identification and risk management.
• Perform regular safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with operational and environmental safety standards.
• Participate in regular safety training, operations training, shift change and drills.
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure its proper use by others in the workplace.
• Report safety hazards, near-misses, and incidents immediately.

• Operate terminal equipment (e.g., pumps, valves, hoses) to transfer materials to and from trucks while adhering to safe handling practices.
• Ensure trucks are properly sealed and secure before departing.

Qualification and Education Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age.
- A High School diploma or GES is required.
- 1+ years of experience in similar setting is preferred
- Ability to learn quickly and to work as part of a team
- Valid TWIC card
- Must possess and maintain and valid US Drivers license.
- Must pass all pre-employment testing including a drug test, physical, and background check
- Basic mathematical ability and understanding is required to successfully perform tank measurements, read gauges, set up product transfers into and out of tanks. This includes the ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, convert fractions to decimals and vice versa. etc.
- Operator must be able to work at heights and around water at marine facility.
- Work is done outdoors; must be comfortable working in all weather conditions.
- Frequesntly required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.
