SUMMARY OVERVIEW
The Tank Farm Operator is responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the airport's fuel storage and distribution facilities, including tank farms and fueling systems. This role involves monitoring fuel inventory levels, conducting routine inspections, and ensuring the safe and efficient storage and transfer of aviation fuel. You will work with a team to perform fuel quality tests, respond to fuel-related emergencies, and coordinate fuel deliveries to aircraft. Also, this position requires adherence to safety and environmental regulations and accurate records of fuel transactions and equipment maintenance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Operate and maintain fuel storage tanks, pumps, pipelines, and associated equipment at the airport's tank farm
  • Monitor tank levels, temperature, and pressure to ensure the safe and efficient storage of aviation fuels
  • Perform routine inspections of tanks and equipment to identify any signs of wear, corrosion, or damage, and report issues promptly
  • Coordinate and assist with the receipt, testing, and quality control of aviation fuels, adhering to industry specifications
  • Participate in fuel delivery operations, including receiving and transferring fuel, and record accurate inventory levels
  • Follow established safety protocols and emergency response procedures to address potential fuel spills or incidents promptly
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on tanks, pumps, and valves, and assist in troubleshooting and repairs as needed
  • Collaborate with Tank Farm Operations Manager to implement operational procedures and safety guidelines
  • Maintain accurate records of fuel transactions, inventory levels, and equipment maintenance activities
  • Assist in the sampling and testing of aviation fuels to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications
  • Monitor and control fuel filtration systems to maintain fuel purity and prevent contaminants from entering aircraft fuel systems
  • Perform routine housekeeping and cleanliness tasks to ensure a safe and organized tank farm environment
  • Assist in the compliance with environmental regulations and participate in environmental monitoring and reporting activities
  • Operate computer-based control systems to monitor and control tank farm equipment
  • Communicate effectively with other tank farm operators, logistics personnel, and airport departments to support overall airport operations
  • Exemplify PrimeFlight customer service and safety standards
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned by management

QUALIFICATIONS
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license.
  • Communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking)
  • Previous experience in fuel storage and distribution operations
  • Knowledge of fuel handling and safety procedures
  • Ability to operate fuel transfer equipment and perform routine maintenance
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a safety-conscious manner
  • Ability to access and interpret information in print and electronically, including the use of electronic devices including IPads/Tablets, Computers, and Mobile Devices
  • Effectively communicate with colleagues and clients, both in-person and through electronic means
  • Pass a background check and drug screen
  • Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, RAIC, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable).
  • Airlines are 24/7, so we need our team members to be flexible to work various shifts including nights, weekends and holidays
