Job description

Principal Systems Security Engineer (Anti-Tamper/Program Protection) – P4

The Systems Security Engineering (SSE) team for the Systems Directorate is seeking a Principal Systems Security Engineer to develop solutions that protect the Warfighter’s technology advantage. The role will work in an onsite, agile development environment and provide strategic input on security for systems, applications, architecture, and design.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interact with the customer to define SSE requirements, solutions, trades, costs, implementation, system impacts, and effectiveness.
  • Develop plans and estimates, task execution, project tracking, reporting, and risk identification and mitigation plans.
  • Ensure compliance with National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Risk Management Framework (RMF) controls.
  • Consult and assist program management with SSE architecture and issues.
  • Support the development of bids and proposals.
  • Define security development and test efforts, implementation of security controls of networking devices, databases, operating systems, and hardware and software components.
  • Integrate cybersecurity development activities.
  • Develop top-level system requirements and flow-down requirements and implementation concepts to subsystems.
  • Understand and comply with DoD technology release and export licensing policies.
Qualifications
  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 8 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Experience in technical leadership.
  • Experience in System Security Engineering, reverse engineering, Anti-Tamper, cybersecurity or embedded security.
  • Experience designing, implementing, testing, and fielding real-time embedded security-oriented solutions on DoD programs with secure systems technologies, methodologies, policies, and guidelines.
  • Experience generating security (cyber, Anti-Tamper and/or program protection) requirements, design and architecture artifacts, plans, and/or policies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • DoD Top Secret clearance with current SSBI within last 5 years.
  • Experience in design, development and fielding of SSE systems, software, firmware and microelectronics engineering, cryptography and FPGA design.
  • Attack threat modeling or Critical Program Information Assessments.
  • Experience in SSE implementation across the entire life cycle.
  • Experience meeting robust SSE systems security requirements.
  • Cyber certifications in accordance with DoDD 8570/DoDD 8140 such as CISSP, GSLC, CEH.
  • Broad understanding of technology and working knowledge of DODI-S-5230.28.
  • Aircraft or weapons integration experience.
  • Strategic planning and proposal writing skills.
