Build AI That Advances Science, Engineering, and Intelligent Systems


Artificial Intelligence is entering a new era—one where AI systems can reason, learn, and accelerate innovation across science and industry.

At Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), we are developing next-generation AI technologies across AI Agents, Foundation Models, and Scientific AI. We are looking for talented AI Research Engineers who want to push the boundaries of AI and transform research breakthroughs into real-world impact.

What You'll Work On

You will contribute to frontier AI research and development in areas including:

Autonomous AI Systems

  • AI Agents, Agentic AI, reasoning, planning, and tool use
  • Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
  • Memory, Skills, and Model Context Protocol (MCP)

Foundation Models

  • Large Language Models (LLMs)
  • Multimodal AI and Vision-Language Models (VLMs)
  • Time-Series Foundation Models
  • Reinforcement Learning, Transfer Learning, Diffusion Models, and model optimization

Scientific AI

  • Physics-Informed Neural Networks (PINNs)
  • Neural Operators
  • Flow Matching
  • Scientific Machine Learning


You will build AI systems across the research lifecycle—from experimentation and model development to evaluation and real-world deployment.


What We’re Looking For

We are looking for researchers and engineers who enjoy solving challenging AI problems.

You may have experience with:

  • Deep Learning, Generative AI, Foundation Models, or AI Agents
  • Python and PyTorch
  • Model training, fine-tuning, evaluation, and data engineering
  • Hugging Face ecosystem (Transformers, PEFT, Datasets, Tokenizers)
  • Open-source AI frameworks such as vLLM, LangChain, LlamaIndex, or LlamaFactory
  • Mandarin speaker preferred


Experience with C/C++ or high-performance AI systems is a plus.
