Tailmen are workers who are typically responsible for assisting in the loading, unloading, and securing of freight, often on trains or trucks. In railway operations, a tailman (sometimes called a brakeman or trainman) may ride at the end of a freight train to help with switching, signaling, and ensuring the safety of the train's rear section.
