POSITION SUMMARY: At Tacos 1986, making our guests feel welcomed is our priority. Good hospitality and excellent ingredients is what keeps our guests coming back.
Cooks at Tacos 1986 will be trained to execute the menu at a fast-paced ticket system while cooking & cutting grilled steak, grilled chicken and shaving while assembling from the Vertical Spit (Trompo). We take a lot of pride in our ingredients, we respect the way we make our Tacos from the specific region of Tijuana, it is very important for all cooks to understand the flavor we strive to achieve every day.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Grill steak, chicken, and other marinated proteins maintaining quality standards
  • Build and shave pork al pastor for service
  • Assemble tacos with fresh toppings and consistent presentation
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation
  • Learn menu items, ingredients, and recipes through training
  • Follow food safety and sanitation standards
  • Support efficient kitchen operations during service
Experience Requirements:
  • 1 years of BOH experience with the willingness to learn
  • Excellent knife skills
  • Ability to follow recipes
  • Punctual, reliable, and on time
  • Grace under pressure
  • Guest focused
  • Team player with great communication
  • Handmade tortilla experience preferred; additional compensation available based on experience
